Biography

Dr. Rawshan Arra Khanam completed her graduation from Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College, Bogura under University of Rajshahi in 2003. Afterward, she simultaneously did her job & post-graduation training in Internal & Critical Care Medicine for six years from BIRDEM General Hospital, one of the largest, renowned hospitals in Bangladesh. Later, she obtained MD on Chest Diseases in 2013 from National Institute of Diseases of Chest & Hospital (NIDCH), Dhaka.
Dr. Khanam joined United Hospital in Medicine and later in Respiratory Medicine Department as Junior Consultant from 2014 to 2018. Before rejoining the United Hospital as Consultant, she had devotedly worked as Consultant at Ingenious Health Care Limited (Pulmonary Rehabilitation Centre) from 2018 to 2019.
Her special field of interest is Interventional Pulmonology & Noninvasive Ventilation (NIV). She has expertise in both diagnostic & therapeutic Bronchoscopic procedures. She is also trained on sleep Medicine from Ace School of Sleep Medicine, New Delhi & Singapore General Hospital. Dr. Khanam attended many international seminars in Respiratory Medicine and presented scientific papers home and abroad. Besides, she is the current Scientific Secretary of Bangladesh Society of Critical Care Medicine (BSCCM) & Executive Editor of Bangladesh Critical Care Journal (BCCJ). She is also a member of the American College of Chest Physicians (ACCP). Additionally, she is also a Member of COVID Steering Committee of United Hospital.
